The founders of C-ASTRAL have been involved in the development and operations of the Makrolab and Transhub mobile laboratories, which include habitation and work environments since 1994. The Makrolab is a world renown art/science project focused on the research of telecommunications, migrations and climate. The Transhub is a 40ft ISO container based mobile media education facility.
At this time, the C-ASTRAL team, together with STVAR d.o.o. and other partners worldwide develops a renewable energy powered, extreme environments habitation module Makrolab markVII. The first field tests of the module elements will be performed in the coming International Polar Year operations in Dronning Maudland, Antarctica.
